BBJ The Phone Slayer

On Friday we had our play date. It was a very small play date - only little Miss Stephanie and her mum could come! We had a lot of fun though. Stephanie's Mum was very kind and let BBJ play with her cell phone. Oh, how BBJ adores buttons! I was leery, but thought Mum must know what she is doing! After all, Miss Stephanie herself is starting to bring some teeth into the world and is getting very chewy and drooly. Stephanie's Mum was laughing, saying how much it looked like BBJ was eating an ice cream sandwich, I was taking pictures, BBJ was happily chewing and sucking, Miss Stephanie was looking on in wonder. Do you know what she was wondering? How stupid are you two? You're just going to watch her destroy it? Oh, how I wish Miss Stephanie could speak with more than her eyes! When I finally convinced BBJ she wanted to play with something else, I dried off the phone. That's when Stephanie's Mum asked me to check the inside of it. It had pools of BBJ dribble! Oh, yucky! I dried it off. That's when Stephanie's Mum noticed it was nearly out of batteries and tried to charge it. It made a funny sort of *uhng uhng* sound...and wouldn't charge. Oh no! At this point, Stephanie's Mum renamed my BBJ "The Phone Slayer" and tried to convince me not to worry about it, her husband had been trying to convince her to get a new one for weeks. That didn't help me out much!

Miss Stephanie and her Mum left shortly after this, after Miss Stephanie had been asleep in my house (in either BBJ's crib or our guest bed) for the better part of three hours! She had to leave, you see, because they were invited to have dinner at our house that evening, and if they didn't leave, how could they ever come back!

We had a lot of fun that night, with four friends over for a fabulous Chinese food feast! BBJ especially enjoyed herself, with all the attention. One of the gals that came over is pregnant and due in November. She and BBJ enjoyed sitting and watching the "guys" try to beat each other at Wii Tennis.
Sunday was a quiet day spent with my parents. BBJ is developing a great love of books, and her grandmother has a great love of reading! They're a Sunday Afternoon match made in heaven!

We also made a visit to a friend's house to wish their son well as he heads off to serve a mission for our church in California. Good luck! BBJ took a liking to his Dad (a good friend of my parents) and seemed to want to keep him.

BBJ is always the life of the party! (Especially after Grandma snuck her bites of the marshmallows from a particularly tasty Ambrosia. Nummy!)

In case anybody was worried, we received a call from Stephanie's Mum today - the beloved Magenta Razr is alive, kicking and very much working. *Whew! It just needed to dry out! I was hoping that would be the case - my brother once ran his cell phone through the wash and it ran fine after it dried out, too!

  1. Beware of the phone eaters... they turn into tv remote eaters, Wii remote eaters and expensive electronics eaters... Sophie's friend has developed a great love of all things that look expensive...:)
