Posting at LoLoCraft today. (take two)

(You might have seen this a few days ago. Oops. Sorry about that! I got a little kerfuddled...but, whatevs, right?)

Well, it’s January 7…and I haven’t exactly nailed down my resolutions or goals for the year. BUT. I do know that they involve getting everything done, doing it beautifully, staying sane and possibly growing a second set of arms and adding four hours to each day.

Ahem.

So, in keeping with that, I made a few simple pillow cases. And I put up a tutorial over at LoLo Craft today. I’m also giving away the set that I made in the tutorial. WHICH MEANS…that all you get today is this silly little post here on LoLo Life…to tell you where the real action is at.

My friends. Hi. It’s the last night of Lo Gung’s two week holiday at home (got to use up that PTO some time, right?!), and…I got nothing. No more pictures to share. I think I had a funny story, but I forgot it. So…let’s do a giveaway, yeah? CSN Stores? OK, sounds good to me. I’m sure you’ve heard of them – I’ve hosted several of their giveaways already. In honor of the New Year, let’s do another one. If you’ve never shopped at CSN stores, you’re in for a treat. They have everything! Need a leather briefcase? They’ve got you covered. A sofa? Sure. A new Le Creuset pot for those black eyed peas you meant to make on New Years Eve? Of course!


Mmm….red! (If you make black eyed peas in a red pan…does that make them black and white…and red all over? Heh. I crack me up.)
(And I just have to say that, right now, they have a deal – if you buy any 3.5 quart Le Creuset dutch oven, or larger, they’ll throw in a free 6 quart Le Creuset stockpot. *drool* I’m just sayin’…)

Little Salty Fishes and a GIVEAWAY!!

The youth in our congregation had an activity last week where their leaders hoped to expose them to foods from all over the world. They contacted anyone and everyone they could think of who had lived or worked overseas (either as a citizen or as a missionary, etc.) and asked us to provide a small dish of something…interesting. Something that might challenge their palates. I decided that a small dish of 鹹魚 (little salty fishes). They are fish. Tiny ones. That have been dried. To prepare them, grab a handful and rinse them off. Mix them up with a splash of oil and a splash of soy sauce, then steam them. Mine can’t seem to get soft enough if they’re just steamed with the rice, so I ended up putting them into a tiny pot with some water and cooking them until they were tender.

My kids love them! I never did hear if the kids at church liked them. Some people have issues with eating entire…animals. You know – with eyes and everything. Heh.

What do you like to shop for? When do you like to shop? Do you like to shop at all?
I like to shop for “me” stuff. If I’m trolling the internet, it’s for things that I probably will never get, and don’t really need. ($3,000 sewing machine anyone? *swoon*)
However, since moving into our new place two months ago (?!), I’ve been searching for  a different sort of something. Something that’s pretty. Something that we need.
Furniture.
I had no idea how much furniture we would be looking for! Sofas, ottomans, end tables, dressers, chairs, dining sets, buffets….we were shopping for it all. And it was pretty fun!
Which makes me really excited to give one of my lucky readers a chance to do their own shopping!
