Sincerely Fro' Me To You: The Pen

Hello, and welcome to the part of the week where we share embarrassing photos that will most likely never see a picture frame, mantle or scrapbook. You know the ones I'm talking about.

Can the mamas with more than one child, who nursed their children, please raise their hands?

Alright - thanks. I just wanted to make sure there was someone in here who would vouch for me. Sometimes negligence is forced on us, ya know?! (Actually...really, if you've ever been busy or occupied while your kid was in the other room...oh forget it. I don't think there's a mama ALIVE who doesn't know what I'm talking about here. I'm just using the nursing as an excuse!)

So, the other day, I was...you know...nursing Siu Jeun. We were chilling on the couch, enjoying some peace and quiet. (Come on - you know what's coming, right?) BBJ was being quiet. I was enjoying it, not allowing myself to imagine what might be keeping her quiet.

She wandered toward me a while later, and said, "Mama! Lookame!!!" (Mom, look at me!)

Yeah, y'all. Laugh all you want to. (I know I wanted to!)

Oh, you want to see that closer? Are you proud of me for not laughing? I don't really want a repeat performance!

(Yes, those are her ribs sticking out. The girl takes after her father, and that's all I'm going to say about that!)

(This, by the way, was taken three days ago. The marks are still there.)

Sincerely Fro' Me To You:

Today we're going to go with a blast from (BBJ's) past. This picture was taken when BBJ was just a few months past one year old. In the picture, you see her at Grandma and Grandpa's house, just as Grandma loves to feed her - sans clothes. (Less laundry!) To the left is her cousin, Ernie, "helping". Come on - if your cousin (who was twice your size) was coming at you with chicken on a fork...what would you do?!

I love this picture because Ernie was always such a great helper with BBJ. She always wanted to take care of "the baby." Yes, they had their moments - there were about 7 months where Ernie would back into a corner screaming every time BBJ came into the room - but they ended up very good friends. We are now located approximately 10 million miles from where Ernie lives, and we miss them, but we get to go back and see everyone this fall, and I'm so excited! Ernie, Aunt LoLo is coming for YOU.

Sincerely Fro' Me To You: Pretty As a Peacock

We took a trip to the zoo last weekend, and snapped this picture just inside the entrance. Don't they look just...pretty as peacocks? (And who's that creepy lady behind Siu Jeun?!)

Sincerely Fro' Me To You: WHO taught her this??!

Hi. My name is Aunt LoLo and I think I have a problem.

You tell me.

Facts: This child is two, sassy, and has never met a model in her life. She is the oldest child, and her mother is anything but vain. (Let me rephrase that - she's vain, but doesn't have the patience to get glammed up, so she just hopes she can get by on natural charm.)

Evidence:
Exhibit A:
I was trying to get a shot of the back of her head. "Turn around, BBJ."

Exhibit B:
There was no provocation for this picture. She put my sunglasses on, they fell off, I snapped a picture. You can add your own word bubble as you wish. Might I suggest, "What ARE you doing with that camera, woman?!"

Exhibit C:
This needs no explaining.

Please send help. If this is Toddler, I don't want to see Teenager!

(I'm going to count how many "Bwahahahaha's" I get in the comments. Go ahead - you know you want to!)

Sincerely Fro' Me To You: The Nose Solution

Oh come on - like you never do this? (I was So Tired of wiping her nose every 2.3 seconds, or watching her rub her face down with a tissue every 4.2 seconds...so I came up with this solution. She didn't like it.)

Sincerely Fro' Me To You: Noodles

You ever have one of those days? The days when your hair just will NOT behave, and you've given up and all you want to do is eat your Top Ramen in peace?

Yeah, me neither.

Sincerely, Fro' Me To You!

In other news, guess who's taught himself to go to sleep?

I wait for him to yawn, then tuck him in bed, crank up the mobile, a quick kiss and "night night", and I leave! It's awesome.

And I totally just jinxed myself, didn't I?

Sincerely Fro' Me To You: Chocolate Milk

Hi, all! This is my first time participating in this carnival. I had always thought the photos had to be embarrassing photos from our past. Imagine my delight when I opened up We Are THAT Family this morning, and saw that Karen had posted an embarrassing photo of her daughter. Woohoo! Let the embarrassment begin!
(Quick introduction if you're new here: I'm a Mormon Stay At Home Mom, living on the East Coast. My husband is Chinese, my family is about as Caucasian as you can get. We are both fluent in Chinese and English, and are raising our kids bi-lingual. I'm Aunt LoLo. My husband is Lo Gung, which is Chinese for husband. BBJ is our daughter, who is two. Our son is Siu Jeun, and he is two months old. Got all that? Alright. Moving on.)

Life's a little crazy around here in the morning. I've usually been up for an hour by the time BBJ wakes up, and I delude myself every morning that TODAY will be The Day that Siu Jeun goes back to sleep at 6:30.

Right.

As soon as BBJ wakes up, it's imperative that we all get some food in us. None of the girls in this family deal well with life when we're hungry! There's a flurry of toast, jam, eggs, bananas...and a glass of chocolate milk for BBJ. (It's a process - she didn't drink milk for months until I convinced her that cold milk with a teeny bit of chocolate in it was Treat Milk. I've been slowly backing down the chocolate, but milk is milk!)

This morning, I could not get any more syrup out of the bottle, but I knew it was still in there. I remembered a treat my Dad used to make for us when we were kids:

Fill the jug up with milk and - voila! - no wasted chocolate!
