The New Castle

It was another beautiful day here in East Coast land. We still got up early - turns out, the people up and down the hall have places to be! People to see! And all of this requires the slamming of doors at 7 am. See, all the things I'm learning here?

We met our agent and set out to keep looking for houses...because, you see, you can't rent a house if the landlord never accepts your offer! We looked at some strange houses, some funny houses, and one I'm sure held the sad ghost of Little Orphan Annie and all of her friends, all sad!

We went to lunch at a sweet, new little pizza joint nearby. Just as we were ready to dig into our grinders and paninis, the phone rang! It was him! Mr. Landlord's Agent. Our hopes were quickly dashed as Realtor Cliff leaned over the table, covered his mouthpiece and said, "Can you offer your rent any higher?" Turns out, we weren't the only family in love with the property. However, we were the only family willing to bump our offer up, and couple that with a good credit history. (Thanks, President Hinckley! No debt = a lot more open doors!) We suspended our house search and instead set out to explore the area around our new home for the next two years.

We met with Mr. Landlord and Mr. Landlord's Agent this evening, did a walk through on the house, pointed out all the things that we would like fixed, he shared all the little quirks that go with a remodeled beach house built in 1974, and we all left very happy!

Here's something to what your appetite until you can all come out and visit us. ;-) Sorry, the pictures aren't great, but it's what I could snap with my head swiveling around like it was. It was a kid in a candy shoppe!
