Sunday Afternoons with Daddy

Daddy and BBJ have started a new tradition on Sundays. The weather has been beautiful these past few weeks, so after church (and naps and lunch) Daddy and BBJ head out to the back yard for some quality bonding time.

The tradition started the day after Hurricane Hanna blew through. She left a beautiful blue sky, a noticeable lack of humidity, and our lake a few feet higher than she found it - high enough to reach over the bulwark and onto the grass. Lo Gung was so excited when we got home from church and he realized he could launch his kayak...from the lawn! He bundled BBJ into her new life jacket and they took off, kayak in tow.

BBJ was in heaven.

She's been scared of the water for most of the summer, but has never had a problem with boats.

The next two Sunday afternoons were equally sunny and lovely, although the water was considerably lower. They had to make do with launching from the dock.

I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
