What to See in New England

So, if you're a grandparent visiting a new grandson...what do you do during the 18 hours a day while he's asleep? Well, you can hold him, rock him, sing to him...or you can cruise the country side to see what there is to see!

My parents took a morning and went cruising up the 7 to see what New England had to offer in the way of Countryside. (They love to drive and have been known to take a three hour drive in the afternoon just to get to a good German Restaurant for their weekly date!)

On this particular day, I called my father up and asked him where he was. "We're in Furnace. We just left Land of Nod." That was the point where I decided my parents had definitely been turned into Kitchen Elves....

Once we determined that they had no in fact been shrunken to mythical proportions, my father proceeded to tell me of all the delights that waited for me not 40 miles from my home.

For example, did you know that there are Roaring Rivers in New England in December?

One of these days, we're going to bundle our little munchkins up and take a drive. This sounds like something fun to do when MaMa (LoGung's Mom) comes to visit next week!

  1. People visiting an area always find the neatest places! Those of us that live there - well, we are too busy with the mundane life to explore.

  2. Wow, who knew? I'm starting to feel like taking a drive myself.
