A Trip to the Zoo

Last weekend, when the weather was beautiful, Lo Gung and I loaded the kids into the car for the first trip to the zoo of the year...and Siu Jeun's first trip to the zoo, ever!

Without further ado - the highlights.

First off - taking the requisite "Peacock Pals" photo.



Yeah...umm..no one's looking at the camera!

Do you like how I'm skillfully guiding Siu Jeun's head into the little head hole, though? Clever, right?

This is the best we could do - at least Siu Jeun's looking at the camera!

Do you think they're in cahoots??! Really guys?? Looking opposite ways???

BBJ really wanted to go take a picture on "the monster" (an iron alligator nearly 12 feet long). In the end, though, she was too afraid to touch it.

So....we'll just admire our dirty sneakers, instead. Look at that alligator face - I think he's laughing at her! He probably gets that reaction a lot. (Especially on hot days - that black iron probably packs a mean punch!)


This guy wasn't so scary - a concrete bear. Siu Jeun thought he was pretty cool!

BBJ was waiting all day to see these guys - 10 day old pigs. Aren't they sweet?

Here's the "auntie" that was in the pen with them and their mama - her piglets were due the next day.

"Mama! The Easter Bunny!" In the pens throughout this "farm" portion of the zoo, somebody had scattered plastic Easter eggs...just to mess with the kids. BBJ fell for it, hook, line and sinker!

Have you ever seen a frilly-er goose?? (Frillier? Frillyful?)

Yes, yes - I know that NOBODY is looking at me in this shot. However, how CUTE is the panda she's riding? BBJ sat out one round of the carousel because somebody else had snatched up the panda before she could get there. The girl knows what she wants! The carousel at the zoo has a panda, a tiger, a lion and several other zoo animals scattered throughout the technicolor ponies. Yeehaw!

BBJ knows she's cute...she specifically requested her "Easter princess dress" for this trip.


My blogging might be a bit sporadic this week - I'm not sure yet. My dad is coming out to visit the kids, and we'll just have to see how the schedule works out. We're so excited to see you, Poppy!
