I promise it was his idea. He disappeared into his sister's room, and came back a few minutes later clutching this dress. He "asked" me to put it on him. (For those unfamiliar with the vocal abilities of toddlers, it went something like this: *grunt* Ungh! Ungh! *shoving dress in my face*. See? I couldn't possibly say no!!)
After I took this picture, Ming Wai made it worse - she turned to him and said, "C'mon! Let's go find our prince!" Umm...sweetie, slight problem - you just dressed your "prince" up as your sidekick princess.
When they failed to find their "prince" they retired to the front room and started dancing and spinning, thus firmly cementing in the toddler's head that you must be properly attired to jump and spin. No dress, no jumping.
*sigh*
He definitely chose the more masculine of the princess dresses. :) Sooooooo cute!!!!

ReplyDeleteWe have a picture of my brother (who had 2 big sisters) in one of my old ballet costumes. The 3 of us were performing the Nutcracker ballet and did ballet poses for the picture. He also insisted on wearing my sister's nightgowns to bed for awhile. And he played with dolls. He turned out pretty manly and even put the ballet picture in his wedding slide show last summer. SJ will be fine :-).

ReplyDeleteWhen my youngest turned out to be a boy, his sister was devastated. She vowed then and there to dress him up anyway. And she did. Tutus, jewelry, hair things - you name it. We have TONS of photos of him in his female finery.
ReplyDeleteFlash forward 13 years to the last orchestra concert we attended where we were treated to girls fawning all over him and professes of which one likes him the most. Seems an early dose of getting in touch with him feminine side has served him well:)
They are both sooooo cuuuute, with dresses or without. :)
