A Day at the Park with Friends!

One of the advantages of living so very near to Seattle is that, when people visit Seattle, they are near enough to visit me as well! (As opposed to my previous home, in Connecticut, that was near enough to New York City to make it there in a day if you were determined to go, but still far enough that out of town visitors could not make time to make the two hour journey out to see me and I could not take my two babies out to New York to see them, and still consider myself sane.) (Be certain, though, that had I NOT moved back to Washington this year, I WOULD be at BlogHer in NYC this year. Whoop it up for me, ladies. It would have been a blast!)

We got lucky on Friday – a friend from Connecticut is visiting her family in the Seattle area, and had time to meet up with us at a park! The kids ran around, burning off energy, and we all ate a picnic in the (slightly soggy) park. (We hit a sudden cold spell this morning, and all wished we were wearing our jackets! Crazy Seattle weather….)

We do so love her boys…little twins, who will be two at the end of the month. Siu Jeun and these boys spent nearly two years chasing after each other, from newborn on, so it was so lovely to see them. Assuming their family doesn’t leave our area, we hope to repeat this play date next year as well!

(Apparently, something in the chilly air makes little boys stick out their tongues. Weird.)

Of course, it was also fabulous to see my good friend again as well! Such a talented, sweet lady.

  2. Wow! A visitor from Connecticut already? That's awesome. It's nice to see Wendy and her boys on here. I believe we'll be getting a visit from the Bements soon. :)
