Day in Photos: November 25, 2013

At the moment, my big girl is at school, my middle child is at a friend's house, my baby is asleep, and Pentatonix is streaming on YouTube. Life? Is good, y'all. Tonight, I will go out with my little tribe for dinner to celebrate my birthday. (To my young, bright eyed friends? Your thirties will be awesome. Just trust me. I'm loving this.)

You ready for an incredibly diverse group of photos that have nothing in common? Of course you are!

1. A few weeks ago, Baby Ying Ying started to get REALLY wiggly whenever we wanted to change her diaper. Then I figured out why the changing table came with a restraint system.

GENIUS.

2. Tip for the day - if baby isn't asleep, neither is anyone else.

(Sunday afternoon "nap")

3. Eating persimmon. Like a boss. Wait for it to get nice and squishy, slice the top off, grab a spoon and go crazy. You're welcome. What would you do without me??!

4. Trying to convince Miss MingWai that her outfit was cute, and didn't make her look fat. (Are we starting this already?!) She eventually agreed with me, and were able to get to school on time.

6. Cousins, "playing piano". Coco is used to being the youngest. Having my baby around, and newly mobile, is a trial for him, but he is working through it. (His oldest sister and Ming Wai went through the same thing 6 years ago. They will survive this.)

7. On Sunday, we  celebrated my twin sister's birthday...and mine. Heh. My sister found a nativity set that came with a book (Christ Centered Christmas, by Emily Freeman). I almost bought it for myself last year, so...I was pretty thrilled to unwrap it! We began working through the book last night. Each Monday, we will study a new member of the nativity set, and add them to the display on the top of the piano. Last night, we read parts of Luke 1 and 2, and sang Silent Night, then discussed Mary. What kind of person must she have been, to so stoically accept that a) she was about to be pregnant, b) she got to explain that to her fiancĂ©, and c) that baby would be the promised Messiah, adored by millions and our personal Savior. The kids agreed that she must have been incredibly humble. Next week, we will add Joseph, and then some shepherds, angels...and I think the animals, as well. 7 weeks, culminating in Baby Jesus joining the scene just before Christmas.
