I have no patience

So, I got BBJ her Halloween costume. I gave you all a sneak-peek by posting a picture from the catalog. However, the very next day...I just couldn't help myself! I bundled BBJ up in her new costume, to show a friend. And...well, the next thing I knew, I was snapping picture after picture, telling myself I would make up for it by not posting it on the blog.

There were no other good pictures in the past few days.

Hi. I come in peace.

What's a girl to do, right? And besides, she's so ridiculously cute in her dragon costume, I couldn't stand not to post the pictures. I'll find something else that's cute to post the day after Halloween, since I've already taken all the suspense out of the whole costume thing. I'll post pictures of OTHER kids' costumes!

Yesterday, we had the most marvelous day. In the morning, my sister and I went off on an impromptu Costco-visit. Aren't those just the most fun? Actually, I just like getting there early enough to get samples. The Sonoma Chicken Salad is divine.

Almost as soon as I got back, one of my dear friends came over with her baby. We had a lot of fun with "mommy chat", but I was thrilled see our daughters actually playing together. Well, near each other. It's something of a first for BBJ, even after our months of playdates. BBJ tried to teach Baby Stephanie all sorts of games that she plays with me. For example, my first floor is in an "O" shape, and I love to chase BBJ around the "O", letting her catch me around every corner. Then, after two or three corners, I run (silently) to get up right behind her and surprise her. It's great fun! Yesterday, she got all ready...she crouched, she looked meaningfully at little Stephanie, and she took off around the corner. Stephanie looked around. Where's my friend?? BBJ came back to peek around the corner, caught Stephanie's eye, laughed, and took off again. She did it twice more, with the same effect. (Stephanie's house isn't shaped like an "O", and most kids don't like being scared off their rocker by crazy mamas creeping up behind them. That being said, BBJ still can't figure out where she's the only one!)

They played other games, too. BBJ, when she finds a toy she likes, will hold it up for inspection, then get back to playing with it. While I got dinner on the table, Stephanie's Mommy was on the couch watching both girls play with blocks. Suddenly, both girls picked up a block, and both girls held it up for Mommy's inspection. How cute is that! Stephanie's Mommy praised BBJ for teaching Stephanie a new game, and I was just over the moon that a little girl would play BBJ's game in the first place!

It's the little things...
