Calling all Crafters

Hey, guys. Just a quick shout - I found this on my cousin's blog, and I thought I'd pass it on. (My cousin? Well, it's Lo Gung's cousin...and we've never met. *sigh* But our daughters are really close in age, and look like sisters...and we WILL meet someday, Tammy!)

Anywho, Tammy led me to a blog called Mama to Mama. She is leading a project to send caps to Haiti for newborns. They can be knit (of cotton yard only, please - Haiti is HOT!) or made of repurposed jersey t-shirts (pattern here). The hats are so dreadfully simple to make out of jersey, I thought I would pass the project along.

Any finished hats can be sent to:

Portland, ME 04104
USA

You can also find more information at MamatoMama.org. The project seems to have just started yesterday, so you still have some time to get your caps done and shipped off to Maine!

Besides - this is an AWESOME opportunity to finally figure out how to sew Jersey knit on your sewing machine. (Or, maybe that's just me. Wonder Woman? Little help?)
