Unwanted Visitors

I have houseguests. Usually, I love company - I love to try to be the Perfect Little Hostess, and I love to fail in that endeavor. I love to make people sit in my toy-strewn living room and eat whatever I've baked lately. I love setting out the good towels for overnight guests, and making sure they have all the toiletries they need.

These guests are different, though - they are rude. They are definitely messy. They never clean up after themselves, or even offer to help out around the house. They knock things off of shelves and perches and never even try to clean up after themselves. They are scaring BBJ, and making a racket late into the night. They never use the front door, and never let me know when they're coming or going.

My one condolence is that they are relegated to a part of the house that nobody ever uses - the attic. To add to their audacity, they come knocking on the door that leads into my room, thinking they might be able to force their way into the main part of the house. Cheeky!

The worst part is that their visit doesn't end until Saturday. This might not come to a good end - the plan is to simply lock the door. If the guests are still inside, then...that might just be where they meet their end. What do you think might convince my guests to die peacefully?

(My landlord can't fix the hole in the siding until this weekend, when it stops raining. Doesn't he KNOW there are SQUIRRELS in his attic, chewing on who-knows-what?! He's found his way into the garage and is knocking all the Stuff down that my landlord has stored in the rafters.)
