Good Plants Gone Bad

The other day, I wanted to get some shots of the kids out in the Fall foliage. Something beautiful, but still a simple trip.

Then inspiration struck - my front yard! Can't get much easier to get to than the front yard.

While I was out there, I started snapping pictures of everything but the kids. (Because flowers? They stand still. Small children? Not so much.)
I found these flowers. They were purple, with lovely bright yellow centers, a few weeks ago. Now the lovely lavendar petals have shriveled up, leaving just the autumnal yellow centers. But wait! Do you see that in the background?
Why, would you look at that- I do declare, Miss Lavendar Happypants has an evil cousin. I named her Maleficent. Or Skeeter. I can't remember which. Point is - she's black, pointy and evil looking. (She used to be happy and carefree..but a harsh life has turned her into a sinister little prickleball. Should we feel sorry for her?)
I think her evil influence is starting to spread to the rest of the yard. Check out the plant that attacked Siu Jeun, not two feet away!
Something baaaaad is happening in Oz.

(Am I the only one that hasn't seen Wicked yet??!)

  1. Your echinacea has lived a full life and will now slumber for the winter. As for your adorable son, I will not begin to predict what he will do.
