Halls The Deck

Yes, you read that right. What else can you call it when you take down the holiday decor? Not sure.
We kept the decor on the light side this year, in light of the fact that we'd be gone for the last three weeks of the season!

So, the Saturday after we returned home from our Crazy Long Trip, we set to work.

Step 1: Gather up all your decorations into one convenient place.
The kitchen table is a great option as it is both out of the toddler's reach, and imperative that you clear it off before lunch.
Step 2: Agree to babysit your friend's munchkin so that your own munchkins have someone to distract them.
Step 3: Rope your husband into helping your pack, and remove the boxes back to the basement.

Step 4: Sit back and admire your clean table for 5.23 seconds...before realizing that the natives are getting restless and it's time to prepare lunch.
Step 5: Start planning how you want to start Spring-ifying your house decor. (Whatever you do, do not spoil the moment by looking behind, above or below the Clean Table. You'll be disappointed. Trust me.)

  4. Um...yeah, half of our Christmas decorations are still up. Maybe I'll try the kitchen table method today.

  5. That might work. I prefer the whole "throw things in the basement and hope they sort themselves" approach.
