November 15, 2013

Fact: "blowout" diapers are really, really exciting when your baby has decided that laying on your back is for dummies, and diaper changes are obviously the cruelest form of torture known to man. YIPES.

Lo Gung has found a game for the Xbox Kinect that the kids adore. It's called Happy Action Theater, and it is a free download. It's essentially 18 little mini games, with no scores, competition or real goals...other than to move your way through ridiculous scenarios. Play with pigeons! Grow some flowers! Pop balloons! Now, look! You're a paper doll with killer dance moves! It's a fantastic way to burn off excess energy when it is too wet and cold to go outside. (Look for Baby YY in these pictures. She kind of loves the game, too...but she loves even MORE that she can sneak off and play with the kids' desktop computer while we are distracted. Girl's got mad sneaky skillz.)

(Here's SJ lighting off fireworks.)
Here she comes!
(And here's SJ playing in a pit of fiery lava. Poor Ying Ying didn't make it - she's under the lava somewhere. *sniff*)
And that she goes

This afternoon, while SJ was at school, I played a sight word game with Ming Wai. Draw a card, read the word. Every five words, Mom slips you a marshmallow. For some reason, flashcards are reason enough to freak out, but a laminated game where the words are written on colorful leaves and there are marshmallows involved? Bring it on. She aced it. Little turkey.

And now, dear friends - it is just after 11pm. I have just finished watching Man of Steel with my very own steely eyed man by my side...and now it is time for bed. Goodnight!
