We are home now from our Lake excursion, and we had an absolutely marvelous time. So marvelous, in fact, I neither blogged nor shot many pictures. (That being said, I still just loaded over 100 pictures into my computer. Not many of them are of BBJ, though! You'll notice, in most of the pictures, she will NOT pose for the camera any more. Sad day! From here on out it seems most of the pictures will either be of her in someone's lap or eating.)
So, we arrived on Saturday and had a great time out on the boat. On Sunday, we attended church with the local ward. What a sweet ward. They seemed especially open to newcomers, probably because there are LOTS of visitors, EVERY week during the summer! It's a tourism-heavy area.
These pictures kind of sum up our fun. My sweet niece, E, turns into a crazy beast when given any amount of sugar. (She's not alone in this crazy ailment - if BBJ has sweets after about 4 pm, she wakes up screaming in the middle of the night. I don't know why!)
So, to avoid this...we gave her more sugar than she could possibly absorb, with fabulous results. Nobody slept for a week! (That's frosting, by the way - not foam.)

Brave Auntie Bert got to try to wrangle both girls at once. E, hang up that phone! BBJ, don't go near her, you know it drives her crazy! E, don't kick her, she's just a baby! Hang up that phone!

Grandma got to snuggle with both girls, very briefly. As you can see, BBJ has had enough of sitting up. It's not that she's upset - she just prefers being upside down! Life is so much more interesting upside down.

When we ventured into town, we had a lot of fun. Besides this handsome fellow, we found an ice cream parlor that served hand dipped ice cream at 10:30 am (candy apple ice cream? Amazing!) and a little hippie shop that had some FUN items. I indulged in a little crystal prism to hang in my car, as my souvenir. The same shop had some Musical Bowls for sale that we fell in love with but couldn't quite bring ourselves to buy. They produce a tone that goes straight into your gut and just is the most relaxing thing I've ever heard with my belly button!

On the road from town back to where we were staying there was a really original little fruit stand. It was a little plyboard shack, full of refrigerators and a large iron box for your money, on your honor. (I like how the grower trusted you to pay, but didn't trust that someone wouldn't take it! hahaha - smart woman.)
We found a fabulous little U-Pick blueberry farm that served a killer chicken sandwich. The thing I loved most about them was their attitude. Walk in, grab a menu, pick a table. When you're ready, head back to the till to order. My absolute favorite little item was a bright pink note they had pinned to the door, that went something like this: We have officially reached our quota of nasty people on August 23, 2007. If you would like to be rude to the wait staff, please eat in town. They make pills for things like that.
I love it!
They also had a little billy goat in a pen out front. We couldn't resist!

We got a few shots of BBJ, just the way we like her - locked in a basket! (We were trying to pack up to leave, and she was getting in the way!)
Finally, it was time to go home. We had some amazing BLESSINGS that last day. Cousin E went home a day earlier. Whether it was the lack of chasing, screaming, or just a room to herself, BBJ actually slept through the night. She woke up happy while we loaded the car. She slept for a few hours until we took our pit stop for lunch. We toured a candy factory, sporting some STYLIN' hairnets (required). She slept another few hours, until we got off the freeway at home. Then she took another nap that evening when we went out to our MegaMart to get some groceries for our pathetically empty fridge. Good girl!!
Vacation is fun, and we had a blast...but we're happy to be home. Yea!
